According to the company, the Wangjiang substation put into operation the most critical 220 kilovolts equipment part, and into the Nanjing power grid in the form of switch station. The move will further optimize the structure of the Nanjing power grid.

At the same time, the station is also an important part of the Qiuteng-Wangjiang 220 kilovolts line project. The successful operation of the 220 kilovolts equipment of Wangjiang Substation has made full preparations for the station to accept the green electricity sent from the 500 kilovolts Qiuteng substation across the river, and also laid a solid foundation for the operation of the Qiuteng-Wangjiang line project.

The Wangjiang substation covers an area of more than 7,000 square meters, equivalent to 17 basketball courts. The whole station is divided into one floor underground and two floors above the ground, which is 18.5 meters high. The "height" is 1.3 times that of the general indoor substation. The architectural style of the whole station is light and modern.

The whole project can be put into operation smoothly before the summer peak, the construction can be counted. It is understood that the Wangjiang 220 kilovolts power transmission and transformation project officially started construction in August 2023. The project period is tight, the task is heavy, the peak of nearly 150 people working at the same time, high safety risk and difficult construction.

The State Grid Nanjing Power Supply Company had established a special working team to continuously optimize the process scheme, strengthen safety control, investigate all kinds of hidden dangers, and comprehensively promote the construction of the project.

After the completion of the project, the station will not only accept green electricity from the Qiuteng substation across the river, but also form a stronger power grid structure and optimize the allocation of power resources in Nanjing. In the future, more green electricity will flow into millions of Nanjing people.
